Is EA a client-sever app?
« on: April 17, 2015, 01:02:04 am »
Hi, I know very little about EA.  I'm just the sys admin who installs it.

When I was first told to install EA, we thought we were going to not use a database, so I put it on a server.  Then they decided to use SQL Server, so I set it up for that, and the users installed the eafullsetup / ealitesetup clients.

My question is, is EA just that client? If we're using SQL server, that's the only thing the client needs to communicate with?

The server I put EA on originally has just been sitting around for a few years...I need to know whether to turn off or upgrade it to a more recent OS.

Thanks, sorry if this is a dumb question.
