Sorry, this is a newbie query....Can you draw simple free floating lines / shapes in EA?
I know its not Visio!

No. You can't. You can only mimc them (sort of) by creating elements (boundaries) that show something line-like.

If you activate the Whiteboard MDG then you get a fair amount of lines and shapes to play with.

It's still no Visio, but it should do for most of your drawing requirements.

Actually there are a number of shortcomings with diagrams, if you want to "diagram", rather than "model".
Frustrating really when diagram's are a prime method of communicating models.

See 9.0 whiteboard diagrams enhancements, and
8.0 diagram enhancements
9.0 diagram enhancements

You can see by the version numbers that there has been little movement in this area for a number of years.
Orthogonality rules
