Excluding elements from getting published in the r

Hi All,

   I have come across a situation where in i have to selectively exclude some of the elements from getting published in the output document

for example in a diagram i have included "Note" to add comments specific to an element or activity. when i try to publish a document i am getting this "Note" and its "Note Link" also published, is there a way to avoid the "Note" and Notelink" or its related information getting published?

In the same example i have an Abstract activity which has 2 more abstract activity nested with it in, for example as shown below:-

  +Activity1
       Activity 2
       Activity 3

I want to exclude Activity from being published in the output document where as i want Activity 2 & Activity 3 to be published.

  I have tried out using Element Filter with not equal condition but did not get required results. it had totally eliminated all the 2 activities to be published.

Can some one please give me some instruction which i can look into in order to solve this problem..
