Object labels - maybe dumb question

So Label Visibility shows top and bottom labels for the source, middle, and target of connectors.  The top label at each end has my enumeration in it (good), but what is displayed in the bottom label, and can is it something that i can edit and display?

Those middle, bottom etc.. are more applicable to connectors.
It depends on the context what is shown in that label.
