Error message while doing "Get Latest"
« on: September 17, 2015, 10:35:08 pm »
Hi all,

while doing "Get Latest" on a controlled package, I get the following error message:
"Microsoft OLE DB provider for SQL Server [-2147217873] Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.t_operation' with unique index 'UX_operation_ea_guid'" with a loss of some elements in the model. I am using EA 12 with MS SQL Server as the backend DB server to hold the model information and Subversion to support controlled packages. Any ideas as to why I get this error and lose model elements in the process will be highly appreciated?

Try to run a consistency check first: Project/Data Management/Project Integrity

Thanks qwerty for your suggestion. when i perform the project integrity check, i receive quite a few errors like "Invalid attribute", "Invalid operation", "Invalid source", "Invalid connector", "Orphaned element stereotype", "Invalid connector tag", "Invalid tagged value", "duplicate GUID's". Do I need to resolve each one of them manually? or "Recover/Clean" option within Project Integrity check dialog will do the job for me?

Just run recover/clean. It's save, just the message is unnecessary scary.
