Documentation - numbering & fragments
« on: December 22, 2015, 09:47:46 pm »
Hi all,

I have created several template fragments which I want to use in 1 template. In the 'master' template, I have several numbered paragraphs, and in each paragraph I want to include a template fragment. Each template fragment contains a numbered sub element.

The result I want to achieve is as follows:

1. Paragraph A
1.1 Sub element A1
1.2 Sub element A2
2. Paragraph B
2.1 Sub element B1
2.2 Sub element B2

etc.

But all I get is:

1. Paragraph A
1.1 Sub element A1
1.2 Sub element A2
2. Paragraph B
1.3 Sub element B1
1.4 Sub element B2

Can somebody explain how I can get the desired result?

Thanks in advance.

You have to make sure all your numbered list styles use the same numbered list.

It's tricky to get it right, but it can be done.

Hi,

Thanks for the input.

I managed to get the desired result by, indeed, selecting the same list (style) in all the templates I have created. (e.g. Masterlist)

I didn't get the result in the first place because the Masterlist value was not available in all the templates in the same eap-file. Maybe some kind of bug in EA.

I think the list styles are stored in the stylesheet, so if you the styles of your templates with the same stylesheet you should have the same list style available everywhere.

It's not so much a bug in EA as just a really weird and complicated way of working with the styles.

Yes this was a common problem before style sheets. Use the style sheets to get the results its a much better option.

Happy to help
