Faster refectoring - cut&paste and drag&dr
« on: May 17, 2004, 03:37:47 am »
EA could be a lot more friendly when it comes to relocating attributes, operations etc...

What we feel is missing is the ability to drag & drop attributes operations from one class to another (either move or copy) - indeed it would be nice if it move the physical code over as wel - but that is not essential.

This one above relies on being able to have 2 specifications open at the same time - which EA doesnt do - much to my annoyance...as it makes it very hard to compare 2 classes on the screen.

The other missing item - and more important is the ability to cut/copy & paste attributes or operations (not singular ether but many). This would speed up development and especially refactoring during design.

How many times do you create a new class during design to take some work away from another class and have to retype the entire contents in again...

"Move" is implemented in the project browser - you can drag attributes and properties (features) from one element to another.

"Copy" is not implemented at the feature level  :(

Having said that ... I agree that the ability to drag features within the diagram frame would be great.

....  and .... have I mentioned multiple select recently ;)

Oh I forgot, we aren't doing him are we.
