be able to select multiple objects
« on: January 26, 2004, 03:56:53 am »
Would be cool if I could:

1) in project view, select multiple objects (the usual windows way, with CTRL or Shift) and do operations on them like move or delete.

2) in diagrams, select multipl objects holding down Shift. This is kind of the standard way I'd expect...

What version are you running. I run the lattest and the requested features work like you want it. 8)

... but it is not possible to open the properties window. Since there is a base class ELEMENT I could imagine that one would like to change attributes (like version etc.) commonly.

Hm, I'm running the trial version of 658, which seems to be the latest one... Am I missing something?

Ooops. I was not reading carefully. Multiple selection in the browser does actually not work, only in diagrams.  You can move and delete there, but not open the properties. The ability to open the properties for multiple elements and make common changes would really be an advantage (e.g. change the phase number for several use cases in one turn). There is also a request that deals with changes comming from packages in a similar way.

Hi thomas and Thomas,

Multi-select is coming soon ... in particular move and delete will be supported. For details, see : http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=suggestions;action=display;num=1081322019;start=0#0

Ctrl+Click does the trick. A related post :

It's a good suggestion, it's being considered, but not for short-term release.

Hope that helps.

Ben
