Sorting Elements of UML Profile in Toolbox

Hi

In a MDSD-project I work with EA as the modelling tool, because UML Profiles are supported.

It would bee a great help, if the elements in the toolbox of a profile could  be sorted. The alphabetical sorting in Resource View has no influence sequencing of the entries in toolbox (bug?).

My proposal: Same order as in project tree of UML profile definition. An individual sequence could be defined.

Hi Erny,

Check out the Tools / Options dialog. In the Project Browser group there is an Allow Free Sorting box. You can read the explanation in the documentation.

The Project View tree is meant to be flexible, at least to the extent that individual users can decide whether or not to delegate the sort order to EA. Since the sort order could be different depending on whether or not this option is set, we cannot allow the structure of profiles (or whatever) to be dependent on the order of items in the tree. Some other way has to be found to define this order.

As to defining individual sequences, would this be on a per-user basis, or would this definition apply to all users of the profile? Would there be any effect on the functionality of the profile, or is this primarily a user interface issue?

Try clicking on the 'Order Stereotypes' button in the 'Save UML Profile' dialog.
