Can't scroll window when connecting
« on: May 24, 2006, 08:28:34 pm »
Unlike, most "drawing" applications, EA can't scroll the window if you need to connect two shapes that aren't sufficiently close with drag and drop.

This should be rectified.

I have found that I can scroll around by
a) select connector type
b) left click on source and keeping the left mouse button down
c) hold down the middle button on the mouse and use the panning dooverlackey

Takes a bit of practice but works.

bruce,

On my system, letting go of the middle mouse button, cancels the "drag".

Any other "magic"?

May I'm not saying it right.

The panning is achieved by keeping both left and middle buttons down and guestering around the "compass" pointer icon until the target is under the mouse.  Then release the middle and click the left on the target element.

Are you saying that when you release the middle button the diagram springs back to the original place?

That's what I thought I was doing... ???

No, that the temporary line disappeared.  I've now tried it again and this time it worked... BUT IT IS VERY TRICKY!
