Permanence of links in HTML documentation
« on: December 08, 2006, 04:15:55 am »
Hi, after some discussions on the general discussion mailing list, and finding out that others also have the same issue,  it seems like this is going to be a feature request.

My feature request: Is it possible to modify the HTML generation tool in EA so that it will keep the relative path of the URLs in the HTML version of the model permanent and not changing them from one HTML generation to another?

My scenario: I am using the HTML version of my model in conjunction with a project wiki. We started linking from wiki pages into the model UML diagrams, illustrating concepts in the wiki with help of UML diagrams. The links broke down after we updated the model and generated a new HTML version.

IMHO it is needless to say that integrating the HMTL model with other tools is a very powerful aspect (in addition to wiki, others commented using the links in Word documents). It will be a great relief for my project.

Cheers.
