BUG/IDEA: Cascade Update for Oracle
« on: April 12, 2007, 01:31:36 pm »
Although the SQL standard ON CASCADE UPDATE is NOT available (at present - will it ever ???) in ORACLE.  It is NOT up to EA to remove the option.

There are a number of packages and techniques available to implement this.

Accordingly, if I want to specify that I want Cascade Update on this relationship, then I should be allowed to do so.  However, in the case of ORACLE  (Or any other database that doesn't support it), the Checkbox should be rendered differently (say in Maroon) - with an additional footnote that it will be ignored in DDL generation.

Thoughts? Votes?
