Move dependencies between interfaces
« on: June 20, 2007, 11:25:38 pm »
Hi there,
(this might be a 7.0 issue) when I try to arrange exposed interfaces on a component (with MANY) interfaces then I find it hard to select a single interface. Often EA prefers to select a crossing dependency. Then I drag the dependency instead of the interface. Now the bad thing! Eventually the dependency snaps into another interface :o I messed up quite some dependencies before I was aware of that. So be careful! Changing the connection of a dependency definitely need a special action (shift click). I will report that as bug.

TK,
AFAIK this has been a problem since the year dot.  The only quick way I've found around it is to use the zoom/pan tool to bring the node up to 300%+, select the dingo you want and zoom back out

Oh I forgot, we aren't doing him are we.

Funny that I never stumbled over this. I will report a bug - as soon as I'm no longer busy. So no hurry - I now have my way to manage the interfaces with quite some help of add-ins.

Following I post my reply to Sparx replx. What's your opinion?

Hi Nicholas,
if this is a feature then it is definitely a drawback. It introduces the described side effects which are definitely unwanted. And again it makes the UI more complicated as the shift-click is expected to do exactly that connector move. I will post your reply and my comments on the board to see what the other users think of it.

Cheers, Thomas

Hello Thomas

Dragging connector ends to other elements is not a bug, this is an added
feature for version 7.0.
