Hyperlink: support as first-class relation
« on: October 22, 2008, 11:13:11 pm »
Hello
I noticed that hyperlink (from one diagram to another, done by drag-and-drop) are not handled by EA as a real relation.
For example, the "Usage" of the target diagram do not show any reference to the hyperlink or source diagram
And deleting the target diagram does not remove the hyperlink
I also noticed that moving the target diagr. to another package keeps the hyperlink working (clicking on it from the source diagr. opens the target diagr) but on the source diagr the hyperlink keeps the text of the original location (something like oldPackage : diagName)

I don't now if you will handle this as a feature request or a bug ;-)

I'm using EA 7.1.832 (on WinXP)

Also, if you delete the target diagram, the hyperlink loses its icon & appears to morph into a text box. There is no way (that I have found) to repair the link - you have to delete it & create a new one. Is this a bug or a "feature"? ::)

[edit]See below...[/edit]

Perhaps you should try again with build 833; it has just come out in the past 24 hours. There's some mention of preserving hyperlinks in the build 833 release notes.

Please let us know if this resolves the problem.

No, you can't have it!

The hyperlink change for 833 was for diagram hyperlinks when the diagram being hyperlinked to is being reimported from XMI, but the hyperlink is not (at the same time).  It will not change any behavior described here.
