sequence diagram

is it possible to create a parallel sequence in the interaction diagram? when new interaction line is drawn, the peer lifelines adjust themselves to the location of the new interaction. I want to disable that.

Maybe you want to use the "par" interaction operator on a combined fragment http://www.sparxsystems.com/uml_tool_guide/uml_dictionary/fragment.html?
