Structured scenarios for use cases in V8
« on: April 27, 2010, 04:35:23 pm »
Hi

Having tried the beta versions of EAv8 and the final release, I found a limitation in the structured scenarios of EA v8: it is only possible to navigate to a single alternate path from basic path

In many cases, I can do the following when writing my use case flows/scenarios:
- navigate from an alternate flow back to the main flow or to another alternate flow
- navigate from an alternate flow to a specific step in the main flow (e.g. step 5)

To illustrate this, the activity diagram generated from the structured scenarios should allow several branches, going forward or backward.

I think the idea behind the structured scenarios is fantastic, but as it currently stands, it's very limited.
I don't think Sparx is far for reaching the ultimate goal and it would push EA features against other UML tools even further

Any hope this will be available in a future release?

Not if you don't formally request it via the links below...   ;)

Read the category notes.  You must submit a formal request for it to be even consisdered by Sparx.
