Reader for iOS (and evtl. Android)
« on: July 10, 2011, 06:15:55 pm »
As the iPad is a great new tool for reviewing and rethinking concepts and models, I would really love to have at least a reader to see my EA-Models the same way I had them in the PC. Even better would be support for note entering per element. Currently I can only export PDF/RTF to see my models with no tree view, no details and no active diagrams.
A full featured editor would be nice, but not so important (and I guess much more complicated) as a reader with note-changing capabilities.

Ronald,

You know there is a free reader (EA Lite) available don't you?
But what you are asking for is basically a reader that can write too :-/

If you really wanted to I think you can write an add-in that will allow you to enter notes even when using EA Lite.

You can have some access byu using a citrix client on your iPad and connecting to a machine running EA. But clicking around may not be that user friendly.

Publishing the model in HTML and storing that on a server would be interesting and easier to navigate.

As I do have an iPad as well, my use case has been: send the diagram into my dropbox and look at it on the iPad, write down notes on it with a stylus in Jot and send it back to the dropbox.

You can always store the annotated doc either as a linked document or paste is as an appearance on a diagram (I do have a sandbox package in my models for that kind of thing).
