Pasting new elements

In order to speed things up I often copy and paste elements. In the project browser, you can only paste into packages (duh??) so I do that and then move (drag & drop) them lower in the hierarchy. However, every time I paste into a package the hierarchy collapses (another duh??) and I have to expand it again... why why why???
