EA and Collaboration
« on: April 26, 2012, 06:30:03 pm »
I think that it might be really useful to improve the degree of collaboration while working with EA.

I am thinking in particular to the chance of sharing discussions on certain topics (open points, issues, etc.) inside a (possibly distributed) team and with the customer.

This morning I found an annoucement by Yammer that now it would be possible to
- include yammer threads everywhere inside applications
- set up groups so as threads will be available also outside your organization (tipically to customers).

Yammer is currently getting more and more popular, so how about the chance of linking some yammer thread to EA elments?

Hi Paolo,
EA does have a "Maintenance View" Alt+4
That lets you track defects, changes, issues and task associated with each element.

You can also use the "Team Review" Ctrl+Alt+U feature to discuss a collection of elements.

Unfortunately everyone that wants to participate will need a copy of EA and access to the repository.

I haven't seen anything about linking to Yammer.

I have been thinking about seeing how hard it would be to updated EA's HTML reporting script to include a form for each element's detailed page that would allow users to submit defects, changes, issues, and tasks for a specific element, with a scripting back end that would update the EA database with the submitted information.

If I remember correctly,  actively using the discussion forum/team review function is possible in EA Lite, although other functions are of course read only.

Thanks Graham, you're right.  EA Lite users can participate in team reviews.

Now if only they could use the maintenance view too.
