Weird lines, etc.
« on: June 25, 2012, 03:49:37 am »
I have a vertical and horizontal purple line on one of my diagrams, and red a capital 'A' in one of my elements.  Are these bugs, or do they mean something?  It would be good if they could either be removed (if they are bugs) or documented (if they are features)!

Thanks for your help.

The A is showing you have a linked document against the element. Impossible to say without seeing what the lines are, but I'd suspect something put there without realizing it, especially if it's only on one diagram.

The red letter A is documented in two Linked Document topics, and is indexed under 'Letter A   Red' and 'Red   Letter A'.

Thanks for your help.

I have looked at the pages of linked documents, and the explanation is clear.  However, when I search for 'red letter A' or 'A letter red' they don't come up.

Any thoughts on what the purple lines might be?  (They are not grid lines; or, at least, they don't disappear when grid lines are turned off.)

Look under the index entry Red, and Letter A is one of the sub-entries.
The other main entry is Letter A, with a sub-entry Red.

As Simon says, we have no way of knowing what the purple lines are without actually seeing the diagram. Can you select the lines? A watermark would affect all diagrams and be a text string. As they are not part of a (really huge) grid, then that's all I have at the moment!
Best Regards, Roy

The other main entry is Letter A, with a sub-entry Red.

When I search for 'red' I get a full page of entries. There are no sub-entries marked 'letter A'.

>>Can you select the lines?

I have discovered that they are print lines, which can easily be removed.

Thanks for your help.

The help file has 4 main tabs: Contents, Index, Search and Favorites. Look under Index, not Search.
