Automatic layouting within boundaries
« on: December 15, 2015, 10:09:25 pm »
in bigger diagrams I use boundaries to structure the elements. But when I click automativ layouting, the elements are played without taking care of the boundaries I set. How is it possible to do automiatic layouting while leaving the elements inside the boundaries?

Regards,
S.

AFAIK there is no API for "Layout Selected". So the ultima ratio would be to write you own layout :-/

But maybe you're simply after "Layout Selected"? Just select the elements in the boundary and from the context choose the above menu entry.

In earlier versions of EA you could select a boundary and items inside it and, say, centre the interior elements relative to the boundary.
In EA 11 and 12 this functionality was removed. I haven't got round to reporting it as a but, but I do find it immensely frustrating that I can no longer align elements relative to their enclosing boundary.
