"Note" Element from Common Toolbox has changed
« on: February 18, 2016, 11:32:50 am »
Tried a search and could not find similar, though may not have used right keywords.
Somehow I have done something to cause the "Note" element in the Toolbox Common to now appear first as a Note with default text rather than blank like it should be.

Pretty sure I have done nothing abnormal as far as creating diagrams etc. So wonder if anyone else experienced similar.

Also have had a similar problem for someone else in past where a Text element now behaves like a Hyperlink.

Have a common repository buuilt on Oracle using EA v11 (moving to 12 soon)

I suspect you have set a Project Template Package. Go "Main Menu > Settings > Project Template Package" (in EA 11) to find out which package, then open the diagram(s) in that package to see what default text you have defined for note elements.

KP's comment would also apply to the Text element, I think, but there is also a small chance that the Note element has been set to a different appearance. If the default text is "Modified on <date>", the Note has been put in Memo format. Right-click on the Note and select the 'Appearance' context menu option, and see if any of the appearance formats have been selected.
Best Regards, Roy

Karma Thanks!!! A bit of user guide reading and you are right. Learn something new every day. Problem solved in this cas by setting project template back to <none> ie back to defaults.

Will know to be more carefull with this feature in future.
