How do I "dissociate the Class from the Association connector"?
Wondered why you asked...

In the old days weren't you able to speak sternly to the Association Class and say:

"Stop it (being an Association Class) or you'll go blind!"

but it seems EA has gone politically correct and doesn't want to hurt the Association Class's self esteem.

Did I understand you correctly?

Paolo

[Edit:  I thought this was a recent change, but my build 909 version also doesn't seem to want to let me do it]

Where?

That's the function I was looking for, but couldn't find it.  Skiwi is probably fast asleep at the moment so he can't comment, but I'm pretty sure he's asking the same question.

In the context menu of the association class (using 12.1).

Advanced/Un-Link Class and Association ?

Wakes up, thanks Q, I'm sure I looked twice, but maybe I was focussed on the association itself, not the association class, or the Element/Advanced menu.

nb: couldn't find this in the help

In the context menu of the association class (using 12.1).

q.
After some investigation, that menu item isn't always there.  In one repository, I have a number of Association Classes that have the link to the Association visible, but DON'T have the menu item.  They still show the "Association Class..." menu item.  For some, I can right-click the Association and the menu item "Find Association Class" is visible (and works) and others I can't.

Obviously looks like some internal inconsistencies.  I've recently had some errors which I had to repair using the Integrity Checker - which may have a bearing, but I suspect not.

Sometimes I can re-attach the Association Class to the Association via the "Association Class..." menu" item and then things get back to normal.  Others I can't because the currently "attached" Association is removed from the list - so I'm in a "Catch-22":  Some parts of EA think it's attached, others don't.

Not sure what I can do.  I'll have to write some queries to see if any of these relationships are anomalous in the DB.

So YMMVDWFM -  :(
