Reflexive relationship only manipulated for custom line

If you have a relationship between two different elements, you can manipulate it using any of the available types.

However, if you drag t it over to the same element (making it a reflexive relationship), then (even though it appears to retain the line type) you can only manipulate it bu explicitly setting the line type to "Custom Line".

If ALL reflexive relationships are, notionally, Custom Line (which might be reasonable) then the line type should be changed appropriately.
