TOGAF and Archimate technologies
« on: April 15, 2015, 11:26:08 pm »
Hi,

We are installing Enterprise Architect (version 12) in a multiuser environment. We have decided to use the Archimate technology, but our architects are also using the ADM of TOGAF 9 as a method in their work.

My questions are:
1) What value will the TOGAF technology give us in addition to the Archimate technology?
2) To what extent do the two technologies overlap in functionality?

Regards,

Hello Stig

Did anybody reply to you?
We're working it from the other way around, whereby we'd like to move over from the TOGAF content model to using Archimate constructs in order to leverage BEASI. But we'd keep aspects of TOGAF content model (and extensions), and certainly keep our model structuring/process alignment with the ADM.
How did you get on? Did you know that The Open Group are working on "Project Harmony" to harmomise Archimate and TOGAF?

Namaste

as-is in EA version 13, if you have installed the TOGAF technology, Archimate 3 and Togaf are competing for the same TOGAF.
A difference is that the TOGAF elements have tagged values while the archimate has none.
