Hyperlink options
« on: September 23, 2016, 11:00:49 pm »
In EA it is possible to insert HTML links. This works fine, but doesn't cover all needs. For instance in a class model we want to make  a class clickable in a diagram opening a web URL. That way want to link our objects in EA with documents existing outside the EA repository. Is there a way to enable this?

AFAIK this is not possible. What I do in those cases is adding the link in the Properties dialog under Related/Files.
However to open that link it is not a “one-click”.

You can't do this with the basic EA funcitonality, but it's simple enough if you write an Add-In.

Add a handler for EA_OnContextItemDoubleClicked() which launches the browser. Easy peasy.

My theories are always correct, just apply them to the right reality.
