Differences between EA and SysML requirements
« on: July 27, 2011, 03:25:05 am »
Hello,

I am a new EA user. Well, in fact I am evaluating its demo version, and in particular the SysML MDG Technology.

So I began with requirements and I wanted to import some of them from an excel file. I imported them using the available tools (Project -> Model Import -> CSV Import ...). It created the requirements, it was just ok !

Created requirements are NOT SysML requirements, but EA ad-hoc requirements. I exported my package to a XMI files and I could see the differences between the two kinds of requirements. However, they seem to offer similar features (if not the same).

So my questions are :

- Are there significant differences between EA and SysML requirements, I mean, when working with both of them ? (aside of the fact that produced XMI files are not consistent...  :-/)

- Is there a way to import SysML requirements from Excel files or other sources ? Do I have to develop a plug-in or a script in order to do it ?

- Is there a way to convert EA requirements to SysML requirements ? It is a Model-To-Model transformation that seems quite easy, but MDA Transformations seems to be mostly oriented to Model-To-Code...

Thank you in advance !
