Connect Oracle to Enterprise Architect
« on: December 22, 2016, 11:54:29 pm »
I have a problem trying to connect Oracle with Enterprise Architect. The situation is as follows: I installed Oracle EX 11g 32b on a 64b computer because the Enterprise Architect program requires 32-bit ODBC drivers to connect to a repository through ODBC.

I have established the ODBC connection on 64b clients through C: \ Windows \ SysWOW64 \ odbcad32.exe and then I have opened Enterprise Architect and made connection to the server.

As data link properties I have selected Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers and I tested the connection and it says it is satisfactory but then when I continue I skip the following error.

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers [-2147217865] [Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle] ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.

The case is that in Oracle I have the tables.

I hope you can help me.

You need to create the schema first with a SQL script (see Sparx' resource page) and then populate it via Project/Data Management/Transfer from an existing (e.g. EAP) repository.

I would also use the Oracle supplied OLE DB drive and not the Microsoft version which does not work with EA.

Cheers
