Building Sql Profile
« on: August 23, 2011, 02:08:41 am »
Hi guys, I am trialling the software at the moment and am running into trouble with getting the profile's to work.

I want to setup some specific executionEnvironment's and am starting with an SqlServer extension. I'd like to have some preset Tagged Values that appear on any class that is of the stereotype SqlServer.  Lets start with one called SqlServerVersion which has the enum options of 2005 and 2008. I've followed the instructions as best I can and am not quite getting the behaviour I would like - the instructions aren't entirely clear what I should expect to see after following some of these instructions so I just wanted to check with people that have more experience.

So I have tried creating both an enum class as well as Tagged Value Types in the Profile and I can pick the stereotype but it doesn't add the tagged values.

ideally I would like some running values (in an instance of a base) specified from a drop list as well as some tagged values of specific lists.  the Tagged Value Types work (and I guess I don't even need the Profile to do this), but I need to add them to each of the stereotyped classes manually is this expected.

Is it possible to enforce specific running values on class instances?
Is it possible to have the tagged values automatically added for stereotype consumer elements?

If someone can let me know and how I'll have a bit more confidence to spend more time trying to get it do work! Thanks for any help

If you set an element's stereotype using the Stereotype field on their Properties dialog, the tagged values associated with that stereotype don't get added until you synchronize the stereotype (find the stereotype in the Toolbox, right-click and "Synchronize Stereotype" which will update the tagged values for all elements in the model with that stereotype).

To apply the stereotype and tagged values in one go, you can drag and drop the stereotype from the Toolbox onto a diagram object.
