Analysis for change management and what if scenarios
« on: February 09, 2017, 08:26:51 pm »
Is anyone doing analysis type stuff in EA 13 / ArchiMate?
I am thinking "If we change process X, what do we need to test?"
Basically querying the Repository to answer analysis questions and not just making modells.

Thanks,
Eamonn J.

We query the repository regularly to help consolidate elements.  We do this directly on the back end DB as this gives us maximum flexibility.

If you use qwerty's excellent book "Inside EA", youcan figure out the SQL to return the analyses you need.  We prinicpally use MS Access via linked tables (which we can relink bertween our Server based Corproate Reposiotry and local clones/subsets in .eap files).  Sometimes we create temporary tables in Access to help the anaysis.
