Geert - do you know if this issue exists in the time-aware modelling/cloning functions as well?

I don't know as I've never used this feature, but there is a good chance it does.

I am not sure if this is related or not. When cloning a package that has navigation links, the cloned links point to the original element not the cloned one.

Not sure if this is by design or not; my expectation was that the links are pointing to the cloned one (especially when the link point within the same package)

I just bumped into this same bug and came here post about it, only to find that I already did more than a year ago and that it is not yet fixed.

This time I ran into it using the EA.Package.Clone operation which apparently uses the same (broken) code to copy a package.
Well, at least it's consistent  :-\

I don't think it's futile. I've had a lot of the bugs I reported fixed as well.
Not always as quickly as I would have liked but.. ;D
