ARIS notation
« on: October 31, 2013, 03:37:29 am »
Hello,

is it possible to get and use the ARIS EPC (event process chain) notation from somewhere?

Many thanks in advance

Look into the BPMN process toolset.

Sorry, I do not understand. As I know the BPMN process toolset it does not support ARIS EPC notation (it support BPMN-notation ;-)  ).

Yes. But I thought you were just after some shapes. Actually there is no ARIS MDG available.

Once I wrote an ARIS importer and used the SPEM profile to display some of the ARIS symbols. Later I wrote a little MDG just to show some more symbols.

Unfortunately, no. It was developed for a customer. But it was quite trivial. You might use the MDG from my tutorial http://community.sparxsystems.com/tutorials/552-24intro-to-creating-a-mdg-file and create your own shapes for <<process>> and what else you need for ARIS. You can do that even with almost no programming skills. Just remember that the shape is within a 100x100 dimension field.

For the sake of completeness: EPC EPK shapes are available as a profile under https://www.sparxsystems.de/ressourcen/uml-profile/.

It does not contain the shape for system landscape modeling.
