Color picker not working. I've seen a report of this, be we weren't able to reproduce it. I still can't reproduce the issue with high DPI enabled.

Would this be a fair ordering of the difficulty that each of these issues cause you?

  • Navigation icons on main view
  • Properties dialog global buttons
  • Options dialog icons
  • ...
  • Scaled up icons

It depends on what you call hidpi. I have a 4k monitor @ 24", which is fine. I also have a 13" and 15" Dell XPS with 4k monitors and that's where you see the issues. In the case of the 15" the scalling is by default 250% and on the 13" 300%.

In terms of the above, you simply can't see the navigation controls. The property display cuts off text and on the 13" is difficult to press, it is so small. The preference icons are so small I can't see what they are. Also the color picker is tiny and not alligned properly.

So to replicate try a monitor with default scalling 250%+. This is what sparx people should be testing on so Mr. Sparx, go and buy some XPS 9370's to test on.

Curious, I was able to reproduce some odd behavior when switching between displays with different DPI scaling settings. Does that apply in your scenario?
Coincidentally one of our users just got a Surface Book 2? with Windows 10.  Weird things are happening with EA 13.5 as he moves between the Surface screen to one of the 2 other attached screens.

Surface books display drivers seem to be "interesting".  We are currently waiting for new client software to specifically address issues with Surface devices that we can't replicate on any other hardware.

In theory Windows is meant to insulate EA from changes between DPI scaling settings for different monitors by scaling positions/sizes in all API calls that apply to monitors with a different DPI than the default. In practice my experience has been that Windows hides the DPI changes from EA effectively enough that we can't detect the situation to fix problems when they inevitably occur.

I've had very limited personal experience with a surface book, but I had a similar situation.

Here's another one. Control right click on an element, say an archimate application component. The menu has tiny, tiny icons alongside each menu item.

Can we please, please have an ETA of whether / when these items will be fixed? If you like I can capture all the issues with screenshots so they can be fixed.

The color Picker is not working my configuration, :
windows 10 pro
Lenovo t470
3 screens (1 notebook + 2 monitors)

it looks like it's reading ~300 pixel left instead of the current mouse position.

the color picker is not working on high res screens
