How to stop all this Spam & BOT created messages

Maybe some Captcha or other non-machine authorisation technics?
How are those user registrated as members??

Definitely the user registration should be made a bit more difficult. However, when it's getting to weekend or night in Aussie-land I just know that I have to select posts until only obvious spam is left and then "Mark messages as read". Doesn't get those bastards replying "meaningful" on threads :-/

FWIW: it has been discussed earlier here and probably nothing's going to change.

Yep it is getting a bit of a pain isn't it.
I do like the idea of fighting back with rescam but that is for when email addresses are provided.
