Shape script to display associated elemet names

Hi all,
I look for some help regarding a shape script I need to write:
I have elements representing an interface on logical level. They are connected to other elements which are the source and target of the interface needed. I used associations to build these connections in my model.
No I would like to have a custom shape script that will show the names of the connected Elements in the central interface element.
I did some shape scripting in the past but it is unclear to me how to achieve this ... can somebody please help me? Ideally with some example code?

It's a bit of a PITA to get this to work (it always takes me at least half an hour to figure it out when I'm forced to use it).
