Set Date = empty in a Tagged Value Type

I have a Tagged Value Type defined as Type=Date; which renders a calendar when trying to edit the tag value of an element. Previous to that definition, the tag value was edited as text, and every user could type the date (with the format every user wants), or leave the field blank (no date defined).

But after defining the tagged value type as Date, the calendar is rendered (which is perfect because format standardization)  but I can't now leave the field blank if no date is defined. There is a way I can clear the date after opening the calendar? or how can I clear the date after selecting a wrong date?

There is no way to set it to blank. Send a feature request. Or just swallow it :-/
