I presume Neil meant <diagram context menu> | Appearance  (because there's no such menu item, "Appearance", for the diagram I was using).

No, that's "Properties" docked window > "Diagram" tab > "Appearance" grouping > "Custom Style" checkbox

Ah... it's an inconsistency between the Diagram Properties and the Diagram Properties! ;)

<diagram context menu> | Properties... | Diagram doesn't have the "Custom Style" option, but it does have Whiteboard and Hand Drawn options.

Do I need to report a bug, ?

No, because it isn't a bug. The Properties window for diagrams and the Diagram Properties dialog are two separate displays, and each performs as it is intended to do.

You can, if you wish, submit a Feature Request asking if the Custom Style option could be added to the Properties dialog, but there might be a good reason for it not being there already.
Best Regards, Roy

Hi Roy,

I can accept that the Properties window for diagrams (Diagram Properties Window) and the Properties dialog for Diagrams (Diagram Properties Dialog), as separate displays.  However, surely the Dialog represents the complete set of properties and the window represents a subset (usually a popular or most used subset)?  Consequently, to find a property on the subset but not on the complete set is, by definition, a design defect.

If neither are designed to show the complete set, then surely that is an architectural defect.

I'll complete a support request.
