Sparx EA 15.0 not connecting to TFS 2017 source control
« on: November 19, 2019, 03:18:54 am »
Hi,
Im using TFS2017 along with visual studio 2017. Trying to integrate Sparx EA 15.0 to TFS for version control. I have couple of question with the integration.
My IT group is using TFS as version control and for WI management. For version control we are using Local workspace mapping and multi user file checkout is enabled.

To integrate Sparx EA with TFS for Version control it mentioned in the Sparx documentation that always have to use server workspace mapping and disable multiuser file checkout.
If I disable the multiuser checkout and local workspace it going to effect my existing users who are using TFS currently? What are the other alternatives I have. Please help me out with this.

For Sparx you'll have to use a separate repository.

You don't need to change existing procedures or repositories, only for this one you need to use server workspaces, and exclusive checkouts.
That is simply the way EA works; it needs to be able to lock a file to a user in order to avoid concurrent changes, and the merging that is the result of that.
