The requirements part of EA is rudimentary and I've found a way to add custom tages into a template package so that dragging that onto a diagram automatically creates/includes those custom tags. All good. The new tags are:
- rationale
- Additional notes

The problem is, and it's a big one, I can't get those custom tags to publish using the report writer. The HELP documentation talks about dragging the element onto the custom report and right-clicking to get the ValueOf() option but that doesn't seem to work for requirement type elements.

Furthermore, I can get the report to output EVERY tag - including default and system tags. That's not what I want as I can't suppress those tags (I think).

It seems, and I'm no expert, I can output every tag or no tags. Is there a way to output just the one (or two) custom tags that I specified via a template package? Thanks.

You have to enter the name of the tagged value with the valueOf option.

I don't see why it wouldn't work with requirement elements.

If all else fails you can still use an SQL fragment.

The ValueOf is not an option for some reason. The help doc says that I can right-click that bit in the publish and select ValueOf() but it's not an option. It doesn't appear in the menu. I read in a post many years old that that's not an option for requirement elements. Not sure if that was true back then or now. Thx.

Ah, you mean you are not in the element> section?
That can indeed be the case. A lot of properties are only available in the element> section and not for example in the diagram>element> section.
