Combination of landscape and portrait
« on: March 13, 2020, 02:58:22 am »
I remember that there is a workaround to combine portrait and landscape templates, it was something with sections I think.
What was the correct manner to get this done?

Insert a section break at the end or beginning of each template that needs to change page layout.

(You remember correctly, in order to change the page layout in rtf/docx you need a new section)

Definitely sections, and I seem to recall that the page orientation is inherited backwards -- up the document instead of down -- so if you get weird behaviour the trick might be to add a section break at the end of your differently-oriented template.

However, if it's just for diagrams it's easier (for the toolsmith) and certainly more flexible to just set the orientation in the diagram properties.

How can I do this?

In 15.0, Diagram properties -- Diagram -- Document Generation Options -- Rotate Images.

As I've noted in another thread, Divide Diagram into Multiple Pages doesn't work, but Rotate Images does.

Thanks Uffe.

I'll also search if there's a way to handle this with a script during the generation of the documentation

No worries. :)

If you use a DocumentGenerator script, it will honour the Rotate Images setting.

And here's my post on Divide Diagram, as yet unanswered.

I use the internal script environment to generate my virtual documents. So I need to investigate if I can change the rotation setting that way

I'm currently experimenting with the documentgenerator, but I can't find a setting to rotate the images.

Thw simple way is to set the Rotate on each Diagram Propertys  ;) Then when using your normal report those diagrams are Rotated and if scaling Scale to 1-page .
