Toolbox profile ordering groups and elements
« on: April 24, 2020, 05:59:10 pm »
Currently working through building out a new MDG based on enterprise integration patterns and generally so far so good.

The one question I'm stumped on is how to order items in the toolbox.

I've got some menu items such as

Channels
  Dead Letter Channel
  Data Channel
Endpoints
  Polling Consumer
Transformations
  Content Enricher
  Content Filter
  Message Transformer

But I would like to change the order of the menu and eventually the items within the menu.  I can't see anything obvious, and googling hasn't thrown up anything yet - though I may be using the wrong terminology.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Graham

Toolbox items are ordered by the attribute order. Use Ctrl-UP and Ctrl-Down to move the attribute in the features window (F9)

If you have multiple toolbox pages, I believe they are order by project browser position if profile exported from package, or by X-position if exported from diagram.
(but I'm not entirely sure. Check the manual to be sure)

Yes indeed, toolbox pages are organised by Z-Order

On you MDG Toolbox diagram , change the Z-Order of each toolbox page, the toolbox at the top of the diagram toolbox, has the highest Z-Order number (if my memory is correct), now is that the Front or the Back?  I think it's the Back, but you may have to experiment a little

All the best

Phil

Correct models are even greater!

Top down in the list is bottom to top in the diagram. I let the classes slightly overlap to be sure.
