Class Derivation - Different behavior in two different PCs
« on: July 22, 2020, 03:36:04 pm »
In case we create a derived class, out of a parent class, using the class relationship "Generalization", in some PCs, the ports of the parent class are not derived to the child class. (They do not appear in the Features-->Interaction points of the derived class)

Enterprise Architect
Editon : Corporate
Version : 14.1.1428
Extensions :
Other Addin :
Operation Systems : Windows 10
System Type : 64bit
Connection Type : Local Project
Repository Type: eap

Not reproducible in all PCs, since only in some PCs we encounter this issue.

Hi Ranjit,

Please note that this is a user forum, not a support channel.
In order to get a response from Sparx, you must send a bug report.

Ah, that's alright then. Just making sure since it was your first post.

For myself I've never seen anything like what you describe, where performing the same operation on the same version of the same edition yields different results on different hosts.

Could there possibly be some issue with user security permissions?
I know in the past EA has sometimes omitted locking embedded elements (ports) when locking the parent element, so if you're using user security that might be a place to look.

We use user security and the locking of ports is also identical in both the hosts.
