v15.2 β - Release Notes - XMI Import / Export
« on: May 25, 2020, 12:13:45 pm »
The v15.2 β - Release Notes (under XMI Import / Export) mentions:
Native XML Import with Strip GUIDs will no longer change the target of existing Diagram hyperlinks

When did they start doing that?  IIRC for most of the time, they didn't then sometime, recently, they started to do that.  Is that correct?

We got used to it and took advantage of it.  Can this be a switch on the import?

Why would you want any existing links to be changed just because something new was added?

I can imagine it as a hacky solution for the fringe case of creating a new versioned package where existing hyperlinks are for the "current". But that added behavior isn't what the import is for.

Oh, I think I misread what this meant!  I thought it meant not changing the GUIDs of diagrams in the imported package.  It does change them at present, doesn't it?

The fix is to stop the import changing the GUIDs of diagrams NOT in the importing package, yes?

What I read is that hyperlinks were being reset to point to the new diagrams instead of some that were in the model previously. Reading between the lines, hyperlinks to the diagrams that the original model was exported from were being redirected to the new diagrams.
