Hi,
This a generic BPMN question that is not Sparx EA specific, but I could not find any generic BPMN  that is very active.

Does anybody know of any BPMN design patterns for the "Pagoda blueprint"?  It is layered architecture. It's author proposes it as a good standard for an MBSE standard, including business and management models.

I don't think BPMN can cover the full range of what Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) covers and what the author of the blog article describes. Both UML and ArchiMate are more suitable for this.

BPMN is meant to be used to describe business processes and cannot be used the described most of the 2 bottom layers of the pagoda.

P.S.: The Pagoda is a nice image not dissimilar to the Conceptual/Logical/Physical pyramid.

Hi Modesto Vegam,

Thank you for the response.

>> BPMN is meant to be used to describe business processes

Yes, I mean that:
(i) I want to draw a business process - and
(ii) I meant a minimalist diagram at the top-most "level" only of each layer. So the systems designing process would be represented by only one or two "top-level" elements and only with respect to its place within the business process.

i will shortly resend the question (enhanced) to the UML forum.

Thanks.

Avraham

is it possible to move/delete this thread? (So that it does not disturb more people here).
