Hi All!

Any idea how to open an element with child element within(!) a bpmn diagram, not in a new window. So when opening the sub-process in a bpmn diagram it would basically extend the diagram to see the sub-process in detail and see the whole process with less detail in the same diagram/window?

Thanks for advices!

No, you can't do that.

You can make it open in the same window (enable concise diagram navigation) but it's still a new diagram.

Hi Guru!

Sorry to hear. By the way is there a way in your experience to show the chain of diagrams on the parent diagram? (chain of diagram equals to table of contents or etc.)? In order to somehow ease the navigation and the understandibility when presenting sub-process in 5-6 levels deep (what happens is the audience and the presenter is losing track of where they are exactly..)

Thanks is advance. Appreciate your reply.

There's not much you can do. You can plaster hyperlinks in different forms. Also composite diagrams for elements are handy. But there is no rule of thumb. Defining styles and keeping modelers to stick to them is difficult in any case.

Yeah, the best option is still to try and reduce the complexity itself.
5 or 6 levels is pretty deep.
