We use the Scope property (instance/classifier) of a certain type of abstraction relationship to denote instantiation.  One end points to the specific instance, the other end points to the placeholder (classifier).  We set the scope of the ends accordingly (manually) - so that we can later check the validity of the user's modelling.  So we thought we'd get the MDG to set them for us.  But nowhere on the "Special Attributes" help page is there a reference to the Scope property.  Is it just a documentation defect or a design defect?  Does anyone know how to set the Scope directly from the MDG?

TIA,
Paolo

Just a good guess then: you can't except you use an add-in.

Dunno what your asking really but here is a WAG
I vaguely remember something about preceding names with two colons like this
MDGScope::name
Happy to help

Hi Sunshine,

I'm asking about setting the value of the scope field in the created object via the MDG.  In the same way we can set other "Special Attributes"

Ah right that scope associated with the source/target roles on the relationship. Sorry was getting confused with MDG scope of stereotype before.
Sorry haven't delved into to those dark corners of Sparx EA before.

Think you are right as from the pattern it looks like there is something missing when you compare the two parts to the manuals
https://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/15.2/modeling/sourcerole.html
with
https://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/15.2/modeling/supportedattributes_2.html

Sounds like you need something like
_SourceScope
_TargetScope

I'd raised it with Spark Systems Support.
Happy to help
:)

Sparxians?

Confirm or deny?  So I can determine whether or not to put in a defect report.
