Meta Constraints (starter question)
« on: May 17, 2021, 07:56:16 pm »
Now I started looking at the quick linker replacement. And (as expected) I stumbled over the first hurdle: No profile found with id: 'Profile Constraints'.

That message pops up when I try to create a meta constraint. Now, where is that profile? Admittedly I brushed out the internal technologies and stuff since I do not need 99% of them. I only left the obvious ones (you have to guess by name since it's documented nowhere). So far that was ok. But now, where is that profile hidden? I restored other obvious stuff but that turned out to be still rubbish. So, where is it??

After a re-install the message vanished. I'd be interested in an answer, though.

P.S. Seems the Basic UML2 Tech was missing. Any hint where that is hidden?
P.P.S. The EA icon in the task bar is lost for the new installation. Not that I care too much, but that seems weird.

Took me about 10 minutes of (sort of) binary search. Turns out that InternalTechnologies can be stripped to EA_Extended_tech.xml and system_tech.xml. The rest I moved to the folder InternalTechnologies rubbish I created alongside.

Since this is Sparxian: none of the XML files in that folder are XML but some unknown binary which is why I had to guess.
