v15.2 – Consistent ability to create QuickLinker relationships from externals

As discussed in various recent posts, we have been able to create stereotyped relationships between our MDG stereotypes and some external stereotypes.  It required creating stereotypes in our local MDG with the FQN of the external stereotype (for example EAUML::procedure).  We have even been able to create QuickLinker entries between external stereotypes (such as EAUML::procedure<->EAUML::table).

Not unreasonably, it required us to determine the exact FQN of the external stereotype.

We tried this with some other externals but they aren't working.  Is it the case that once we get the FQN correct, it will work?

We've also had some success with meta-relationships, but need to have confirmation that the same applies.

I'm not aware of any special cases that won't work. Right now you're asking us to confirm that all possible needles in all possible haystacks will work. Please provide specifics. Are you creating these via the stereotypes page in the metaclass dialog or manually defining them?

I wouldn't expect metarelationships or stereotyped relationships from an external stereotype to be definable. The source element won't be included in your profile and therefore it has nothing to serialize those relationships on. Otherwise, until given information to the contrary, the results should be the same.

I'm not actually sure what this means in that sentence. Confirmation as above? A list of all possible external stereotypes? A list of all external stereotypes included in an EA install? Both of those I would tell you to use the Stereotypes page of the metaclass dialog.
