scaled printing distorts image

I have a diagram that is too big to print on a single sheet of paper. In diagram properties > Diagram > Page Setup > Advanced > Scaled Printing, I set it to print 1 page wide by 2 pages tall.

I expect the image to be scaled down to fit onto a single page width and that the aspect ratio of the image will not be changed.

Actually the aspect ratio is changed and my image is stretched so all the letters are very tall.

Is this a known issue? Is there anyway for me to workaround it?
