Custom Toolbox elements
« on: June 07, 2022, 05:00:16 am »
Hello,

First post and new to Sparx EA tooling. Was hoping to understand  if you can create custom elements within EA that shows up in the Toolbox. Today I was working on my project and noticed as I was creating a new diagram that under Elements, 2 new elements showed up "Product Line" and "Product". I never noticed them before and it is the exact wording we use in a few properties of application components I imported from a spreadsheet. Are these 2 elements standard? Or did I somehow inadvertently create these types when I did the import?

Also - Is there a simple explanation for what a StereoType is in this tool?

I tried to put a screenshot in here but it doesn't seem to want to allow me to upload an image. I can send anyone the image or if someone can tell me how to, I can upload my example.

Thanks,
Gregg

Wow @Geert Bellekens. Definitely was not expecting to have to host my own images. I don't have access to those sites at work, so it is a little tough. The toolbox next to the Diagram has 2 shapes.

Product Line: This has a tab similar to a grouping icon
Product: This has an icon like a component

Is this something I created by mistake when I did the import of application conponents because they were added as tagged values as fields?

Thanks,
Gregg

You can't create toolboxes by accident.
It's probably defined in some of the existing or custom MDG's.

If you put such an element on a diagram, and look at the fully qualified stereotype name, that should help in identifying the MDG

Good Call KP! It is an element under BIZBOK Product Toolbox perspective!
